ITC Holdings (ITC) was a major loser in the sector, falling 6.5% (-$5) to close at $71.91 with 2.1 million shares moving. The stock traded in a range of $71.60 to $77.41. The stock has been sinking recently, and shares are down $6.28 (-8%) from a price of $78.19 on April 26, 2012.
Delta Natural Gas Company (DGAS) was a significant gainer in the sector, rising 5.7%. The stock closed at $21.90 with 10,960 shares moving. The stock traded in a range of $21.04 to $21.99.
DCP Midstream Partners (DPM) declined 2.2% to close at $44.78, moving below its 50-day moving average of $45.71 and 200-day moving average of $45.23. Chesapeake Utilities Corporation (CPK) rose 1.5% to close at $41.57, crossing its 50-day moving average of $41.44.
Genon Energy (GEN) rose 3% to close at $2.08, approaching its 50-day moving average of $2.13. It has also moved closer to its 200-day moving average of $2.42. Cheniere Energy (NU) fell 5.6% to close at $16.92, moving closer to its 50-day moving average of $16.59. Also, the stock moved closer to its 200-day moving average of $35.34.
