Books-A-Million (BAMM) rose 25.1% to close at $3.19, crossing its 50-day moving average of $2.88. Meanwhile, Shoe Carnival (SCVL) dropped 35.4% to close at $19.44, moving below its 200-day moving average or $26.62.
Genesco (FMCN) fell 4.8% to close at $75, moving closer to its 50-day moving average of $73.30. Also, the stock moved closer to its 200-day moving average of $23.84. Consolidated Graphics (CGX) rose 2.9% to close at $39.99, moving closer to its 50-day moving average of $43.57.
Digital Domain Media Group (DDMG) was a significant gainer in the sector, rising 13%. The stock closed at $8.44 with 427,136 shares moving. The stock traded in a range of $7.47 to $8.61.
Groupon (GRPN) was a major loser in the sector, falling 10.6% (-$1.26) to close at $10.71 with 2.8 million shares moving. The stock traded in a range of $10.64 to $11.99.
