Capital Goods Sector Wrap

While the S&P 500 grew 0.7%, the Capital Goods sector (XLI) showed little movement during trading today.

Cleantech Solutions International (CLNT) was a major loser in the sector. Its price dropped 14.8% (-83 cents) to close at $4.79, as 1.2 million shares moved. The stock traded between $4.65 and $6.10.

Increasing 14.1% (+$2.67) to close at $21.62, The Ryland Group (RYL) was a major gainer in the sector. Today, 5.4 million shares traded hands. The stock traded in a range of $19.60 to $21.78. Shares price has risen $4.07 (23.2%) from $17.55 on April 19, 2012.

Kadant (KAI) rose 11.6% to close at $24.76, cross its 50-day moving average of $23.27 and 200-day moving average of $22.53.

Briggs & Stratton Corporation (KMT) fell 2.7% to close at $17.94, moving closer to its 50-day moving average of $17.60. Also, the stock moved closer to its 200-day moving average of $41.33. Sodastream International (SODA) rose 4.3% to close at $35.33, getting closer to its 200-day moving average or $36.38.

AeroVironment (AVAV) hit a new 52-week low today, hitting $23.70 to fall below the previous low of $23.71.
