During trading today, both the Transportation sector (IYT) and the S&P500 showed little movement.
The ETF is trading at 1.3% above its 50-day moving average and 4.7% above its 200-day moving average. The ETF, as a proxy for the sector, tracked closer to the overall market today than over the past week. Going into trading today, the S&P 500 was up 1.2% over the last seven trading days, but IYT was up 3.2%.
Tsakos Energy Navigation (TNP) was one of the sector's big losers, as its price dropped 14% (-$1.10) to close at $6.73. 1.2 million shares of the stock moved. The stock traded in a range of $6.67 to $7.49. Shares are down, having dropped $1.33 (-16.5%) from a price of $8.06 on April 11, 2012.

Spirit Airlines Incorporated (SAVE) hit a new 52-week high today, reaching $23.48 to top the previous high of $22.92.
SkyWest (SKYW) hit a new 52-week low today, hitting $9.63 to fall below the previous low of $10.13.
