The stock has been on a downward trajectory over the last two months, dipping 76 cents (-34.7%) from a price of $2.19 on February 16, 2012.
Isramco (ISRL) rose 10.7% to close at $91.02, cross its 50-day moving average of $83.29 and 200-day moving average of $80.34.
Newfield Exploration (NFX) rose 4.5% to close at $33.78, approaching its 50-day moving average of $35.13. It has also moved closer to its 200-day moving average of $39.31. Calumet Specialty Products Partners L.P (PVR) fell 0.7% to close at $25.86, moving closer to its 50-day moving average of $25.46. Also, the stock moved closer to its 200-day moving average of $25.11.
Laredo Petroleum Holdings (LPI) was a significant gainer in the sector, rising 6.7%. The stock closed at $25.34 with 340,399 shares moving. The stock traded in a range of $23.86 to $25.51.
IHS (IHS) hit a new 52-week high today, reaching $99.08 to top the previous high of $98.50.
