Obama Says Debt Reduction Will Require Major Reforms

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Barack Obama said Tuesday that bringing down long-term U.S. debt is going to require major overhauls of U.S. entitlement programs like Social Security and the tax code.

At a White House news conference, Obama called these entitlements and taxes "long-term drivers" of debt that will have to be reformed to bring down U.S. debt. (Reporting by Steve Holland, Editing by Sandra Maler)
