WASHINGTON -- President Barack Obama will use his State of the Union speech on Tuesday night to rally lawmakers to put aside politics and put more Americans to work. "At stake is whether new jobs and industries take root in this country, or somewhere else," Obama will say, according to excerpts of his speech released by the White House. Obama will also say that Americans want members of the major political parties to work together on job-creation and overcome the effects of the nation's economic downturn. He will underscore the importance of innovation and say that this is "our generation's Sputnik moment."
