NEW DELHI -(Dow Jones)- Visiting former Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama met with Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, and they agreed on the importance of advancing cooperation between their countries in infrastructure development in India, such as rail construction, officials said, Kyodo reported Monday.

Japan is seeking a condition to stop cooperation in the event of India conducting a nuclear test.

Hatoyama will also meet with Commerce Minister Anand Sharma, who has expressed interest in visiting Japan next month.
