Chicago Rivet & Machine (AMEX:CVR) expects its refinery in Coffeyville, Kansas to return to full operations by Jan. 22 after it was shut down in December following an equipment malfunction and small fire.

No injuries were reported in the accident, but the company had to pay $4.5 million to repair a damaged fluid catalytic cracker.

CVR said it used the downtown, during which it was only producing 50,000 barrels a day, to launch certain turnaround activities that had previously been scheduled for later in 2011. The company also conducted what it called opportunistic maintenance at a cost of $4 million.

At full capacity, the refinery produces 115,700 barrels of oil per day.

The company said its expects its results for the quarter ending March 31 to be negatively impacted by the incident, though it noted there will be no other long-term impacts on its operations.
