Stock futures were pointing to a slightly lower opening despite better-than-expected weekly initial jobless claims number of 435,000.

Here are some early-market movers for Wednesday.

VCG Holding Corp (NASDAQ: VCGH)

The adult nightclub operator will  be taken private by its CEO and COO for $2.25 per share sending shares up 17.2% in pre-market trading.

SMART Technologies Inc (NASDAQ: SMT)

The interactive technology company posted a 22% drop in earnings for the second quarter late Tuesday reporting adjusted earnings of 33 cents per share on revenue of $222.7 million. Shares fell 20.5% in pre-market trading Wednesday.

A123 Systems Inc (NASDAQ: AONE)

Shares of the lithium-ion battery manufacturer fell 10.9% in pre-market trading after posting a larger than expected third-quarter loss late Tuesday which fell short of expectations. 

The company reported a loss of 43 cents per share while analysts had estimated a loss of 30 cents per share.

Grand Canyon Education Incorporated (NASDAQ: LOPE)

The online education company missed third-quarter estimates reporting earnings of 28 cents per share on revenue of $98.9 million late Tuesday. 

Analysts had estimated earnings of 29 cents per share and revenue of $102.3 million. Shares slipped 9.5% in pre-market trading Wednesday.

Invesco LTD (NYSE: INV)

The money manager announced that Morgan Stanley plans to sell its stake in the company, which sent shares down 6.5% in pre-market trading.

Weight Watchers International Inc (NYSE: WTW)

Shares of the weight management services company lost 4.2% in pre-market trading Wednesday after posting third-quarter results after Tuesday’s close which missed expectations. 

The company reported earnings of 59 cents per share while the Street had been looking for 64 cents per share.
