Stock futures were mostly flat after fallingearlier gains following a higher than expected initial jobless claims number of 500,000.

McAfee Inc. (NYSE: MFE)

Shares of the computer security company surged 58.3% in pre-market trading after it announced it would be acquired by Intel for $48 per share in a deal valued at $7.68 billion.

Open Text Corp (NASDAQ: OTEX)

The content software developer announced fourth-quarter results beating expectations with of earnings of 95 cents per share on revenue of $240 million. Analysts had been expecting earnings of 86 cents per share and revenue of $243.93 million. Shares were up 6.6% in pre-market trading.

Petsmart Inc (NASDAQ: PETM)

Shares of the pet-product supplier gained 6.5% in pre-market trading Thursday after beating the Street late Wednesday reporting second-quarter earnings of 41 cents per share on revenue of $1.4 billion. Analysts had been looking for earnings of 36 cents per share and revenue of $1.39 billion.

AFC Enterprises Inc (NASDAQ: AFCE)

The Popeye’s restaurant operator released second-quarter results reporting adjusted earnings of 21 cents per share on revenue of $34.3 million. Analysts had been looking for earnings of 19 cents per share and revenue of $34.53 million. Shares were down 7.6% in pre-market trading on the lower-than-expected revenue which was down 3.9% from last year.

Brocade Communications Systems Inc (NASDAQ: BRCD)

The networking systems company posted third-quarter results late Wednesday reporting non-GAAP earnings of 13 cents per share, in-line with estimates. Revenue of $504 million came in just below estimates of $508.41 million. Shares were down 6.4% in pre-market trading Thursday.

Achillion Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: ACHN)

Shares slipped 5.3% in pre-market trading after the company announced a private placement of $50 million.
