AT&T (NYSE:T) said Wednesday it is expanding its third generation mobile broadband network at nearly 50 cell sites across upstate South Carolina, extending access for advanced mobile services, devices and feature-rich audio and video content to customers in the area.
Starting today residents in Greenwood, Seneca, Spartanburg, Gaffney, Anderson and other upstate areas will be able to take advantage of the “quicker speeds” if the 3G network, the company said.
“This investment in the latest wireless technology is good for business and consumers across the Upstate,” said state Rep. Bill Sandifer.
The broadband expansion is one of many ongoing initiatives planned by the mobile provider to enhance coverage and capacity across the country.
It recently upgraded 3G cell sites nationwide to High-Speed Packet Access 7.2.
