Stock futures were pointing toward a higher opening following positive earnings results from Dow component Wal-Mart and July producer price index and housing start numbers coming in mostly in-line with expectations.
Here are some early-market movers for Tuesday.
Biostar Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ: BSPM)
Shares of the Chinese pharmaceutical company were up 14.9% in pre-market trading after posting second-quarter results. The company reported adjusted earnings of 21 cents per share. Revenue was up 46.4% from the same period last year at $19.4 million.
AgFeed Industries (NASDAQ: FEED)
The Chinese agricultural company announced it would acquire Hog producer M2P2 LLC for $26 million and will buy back $5 million of its own common stock. Shares were up 6.4% in pre-market trading.
Cumberland Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: CPIX)
The pharmaceutical company missed second-quarter estimates sending shares down 17.2% in pre-market trading. The company reported earnings of one cent per share while the Street had been looking for three cents. Revenue of $10.7 million also missed expectations of $11.22 million.
InterOil Corp (NYSE: IOC)
The oil company posted second-quarter results late Monday reporting earnings of 17 cents per share beating estimates of ten cents per share. Earnings fell 17% however and shares were trading 11.7% lower in pre-market trading Tuesday.
Perfect World Co.'s (NASDAQ: PWRD)
Shares of the Chinese online game developer slipped 11.1% in pre-market trading after second-quarter profit of $29 million came in 25% lower from a year ago. The company reported earnings of 11 cents per share on revenue of $87.6 million.
MannKind Corp. (NASDAQ: MNKD)
The biopharmaceutical company announced it plans to offer eight million shares in a stock offering sending existing shares down 11% in pre-market trading.
