JPMorgan Chase (JPM) kicked off bank earnings season with disappointing results on the top and bottom lines. A big drop in fixed-income profits and mortgage originations also worried traders. Shares of the biggest U.S. bank by assets are falling 3%.
2Wells Fargo (WFC)
On the other side of the spectrum is Wells Fargo (WFC). The No. 4 U.S. bank revealed per-share earnings that topped expectations and revenues that were in-line with Wall Street's views. The shares are up shy of 1%.
FOX Business Reporter / Editor Victoria Craig says she's watching shares of biotechnology stocks. The Nasdaq Biotechnology Index is set to fall for the seventh-straight week -- the longest weekly rout since 1998.
Traders can play the sector through an array of exchange-traded funds, including the iShares NASDAQ Biotechnology Index (IBB).
Tesla (TSLA) shares are sliding more than 2%. The drop on no apparent news is emblematic of the big rotation away from growth stocks.
Zynga (ZNGA) shares are up 1.5% after Morgan Stanley reportedly upped the social game maker to "equalweight" from "underweight."
