SAN FRANCISCO – Lenovo Group of China is on the verge of clinching a deal to buy Google Inc.'s Motorola unit for around $3 billion, Reuters reported Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter. Lenovo is reportedly in the final stages of negotiations to buy the handset division that includes Moto X and Moto G smartphones as well as certain patents, the news agency said. An announcement could come as soon as Wednesday. Shares of Google were up 1.5% in after hours trading. Officials at Lenovo and Google did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
