Stock futures were mixed as traders digest Citigroup’s earnings and the $19.4 billion acquisition agreement between Kraft and Cadbury.

 Here are some of the early-market movers for Tuesday.

GenVec Inc. (GNVC) 

Shares of the biopharmaceutical company jumped 19% in pre-market trading after the company announced a licensing agreement with Novartis to develop treatments for hearing loss and balance disorders. GenVec will receive $5 million upfront and up to $213.6 million in milestone payments.

 

Ballard Power Systems Inc. (BLDP) 

The company announced it will acquire a controlling interest Dantherm Power in Denmark for $6 million sending Ballard shares up 12.5% in pre-market trading.

 

Netlist Inc. (NLST)

Shares were up 8.3% in pre-market trading announced it has been issued two patents related to memory load isolation and memory rank multiplication  in the development of its Hypercloud product line.

 

Cardica, Inc. (CRDC)

The company announced its Flex-A System will be used by the University of Tokyo in the development of a cardiac surgery robot. Shares were up 7% in pre-market trading.

 

Ciena Corp. (CIEN)

Shares of the communications networking equipment company gained 6.1% in pre-market trading after being upgraded to “outperform” from “neutral” by analysts at Credit Suisse.

 

Molina Healthcare Inc (MOH)

Shares of the managed-care company fell 6.9% in pre-market trading after announcing it would purchase the health information management business of Unisys Corp for $135 million to expand offerings beyond managed care.
