Nissan's Godzilla of Sports Cars Makes Furious Comeback

It might be a very small part of the business, but the 2017 Nissan GT-R , AKA Godzilla, was the star of this year’s New York Auto Show.

“The sports car tracks a lot of attention… We sell 2,500 Godzilla’s a year over 5.5 million cars sold every year… but a lot of attention, a lot of emotion, a lot of motivation --- it’s the kind of flagship for the brand,” said Renault-Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn during an interview with the FOX Business Network’s Maria Bartiromo.

According to Ghosn 85% of the cars sold by the company are made in the U.S. because foreign exchanges are too risky.

“We added 9,000 jobs in manufacturing [over] the last three years,” he said.

As for the future of cars -- Ghosn says expect a technology revolution within the next 5 years.

“There is a lot of research, a lot of technology -- all the suppliers are moving into this direction,” he said.
