Digital Video Stars Drive Teens to DigiTour Events

Move over movie stars, teens’ favorite celebrities are found on YouTube (NASDAQ:GOOGL) and Vine. From Bethany Mota to Nash Grier, digital video stars are the youth A-listers.

And some startups had the foresight to capitalize upon this trend. Niche, a talent agency for digital stars was acquired by Twitter (NYSE:TWTR) this month. DigiTour Media has also focused on the online video business, putting on tours for YouTube and Vine stars.

In a web video interview with FOXBusiness.com, DigiTour CEO Meridith Valiando Rojas explained how they got at the forefront of the digital video trend. DigiTour is backed by Ryan Seacrest and other big Hollywood names, including Ben Silverman and Guy Oseary.

“These are the superstars in this demographic today,” said Valiando Rojas. DigiTour focuses on “bringing ‘best day of your life experiences’ to teens around the world.”

The group is expected to sell 350,000 tickets this year in 141 events around the world. DigiTour targets Generation Z, particularly young women aged 13-17.

Some of the most popular names on the tours include Nash Grier, Cameron Dallas, Matt Espinosa, and Andrea Russett. DigiTour has “over 300 social media stars on our stage,” said Valiando Rojas.

DigiTour was founded in 2010 and is based in Los Angeles.
