Enterprising Street Performer Making $60-per-Hour

Since 2011, street performer “Verbal Ase” has been making a living off of his voice – and only his voice.

Ase tells FBN’s Stuart Varney that he typically makes more than $60 per hour.

“Usually when I’m in the subways – the most I’ve made in one day is $400,” says Ase.

When he first got started, Ase says he would perform for upwards of six hours a day, but now he’s focused on taking care of his most valuable asset.

“I got to protect my voice, so I usually stay out for three or four hours a day,” says Ase.

His vocal stylings are also earning him gigs in venues just a little glitzier than your average New York City subway car. Ase has opened up for Method Man, Three 6 Mafia and Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, and he says he’ll be on the small screen in millions of households this week.

“Today I’m going to meet up with Nick Cannon after this for America’s Got Talent. We’re going to do something in Times Square. I think it’s going to air on Wednesday,” says Ase.
