PR Lessons From Twitter-sphere on Rubio Speech

Among the things I learned this week was not to take a big gulp of water while making a speech…especially on national TV. Here’s my latest version of Favorite Small Business Tweets of the Week.

@Nickadoo Up until now, I thought "twerking" was short for "networking." Needless to say, today's business lunch was freaky.

@MeetingBoy Look, you might as well put "expert unicorn hunter" on the 7th page of your resume because no one in the world is ever going to read it.

@ebrawley Next to "fav" and "retweet" there should be a "?" You know, cus, like, sometimes you're like "what?"

‏@grantpa I do some image consulting for businesses. I bring in the big bucks because I always suggest "make your logo look like the Hollywood sign!"

@KendaMorrison The best way to truly brand yourself is to explain why your customers keep coming back.

@Hyken How do you manage the customer’s last impression of you? Manage it well & it's more than a last impression. It's a lasting impression.

‏@AmberCadabra Businesses. Stop making people fax forms. This is 2013.

@jowyang Four reasons I'm glad I skipped math class: 1) More time at the quad 2) Got to sleep in, and finally 3) Time to play Nintendo.

@servantofchaos With social media you don't have to scratch the surface to see what lurks beneath

@sisypheantask so the only thing I know about the SOTU speech tonight and the GOP response is what I know from gifs #fistbump #reachforwater#engl372

‏@neiltyson Times have changed: Kennedy: "Let's go to the moon." Obama: "Lets repair our infrastructure."

@RepAndyHarrisMD During the President’s speech tonight, America spent $450 million dollars, much of which was borrowed from places like China.

‏@jowyang Republicans smart to put Latino up front against Obama, Latinos, 16% of USA, will have deciding vote in next elections, says experts.

@dannysullivan But it was good earlier when local TV was warning us not to trust Twitter because unlike news services, you can't trust tweets to be right

@PaulBegala Marco Rubio: the man you want to have a desperate gulp of water with.

@MarcoRubiosH2O ehem . . . watergate . . . anybody?
