Hershey Co said on Thursday that it agreed to buy Canadian chocolate maker Brookside Foods for an undisclosed amount.

Hershey said it expects the deal to add to earnings in the first year after its closing.
Brookside, based in British Columbia and privately held, makes chocolate-covered fruit juice pieces and chocolate-covered nuts and dried fruit.
Hershey was advised by JP Morgan on the deal while Brookside was advised by Lazard Middle Market.
