Durable Goods Orders Rise More Than Expected

Orders for long-lasting goods climbed 4.6% in December from November, significantly outpacing estimates of a 1.8% increase, the Commerce Department reported on Monday.

Excluding the transportation segment, orders were up 1.3%, topping estimates of a 0.7% increase.
