Even if there are only a few weeks of seasonal work available at these stores, they have hired thousands this holiday season and you never know if college kids need to go back to school - leaving a position for you. My point is that if you are willing to take something it can be a step to something else. Working even for the holidays is better than sitting at home.
WAL-MART (WMT) - Multinational retailer that runs chains of large discount department stores and warehouse stores.
*Plans to hire more than 50,000 seasonal workers for holidays (slightly up from last year)

*Hiring seasonal associates started in October and will continue through December. Also offering more hours to existing associates.
*Company does see some associates stay on after the holidays.

*Hires approximately 100,000 year-round, but the peak hiring season is Oct-Jan

*Hiring over 1400 total -- 600 seasonal sales positions across 58 stores, plus an additional 15 transition team members per store (total of 870).
