Last night’s Presidential debate got into the issue of government bailouts for major American car companies. The political issue of the automakers aside, General Motors (GM) is looking to add more staff as it attempts to bring its IT services within the company. (Right now, they outsource most of it.)

*Top Jobs: software developers, project managers, database managers and business analysts
*Hiring is part of the plan to shift information technology work back into the company. GM now outsources about 90% of its IT services and wants to flip those figures in the next 3-5 years.

BURLINGTON COAT FACTORY – American national department store retailer for clothes and shoes
*Has over 230 openings, 90 in stores, 55 in corporate officers and 85 in supply chain & distribution centers

*Has opened 10 new stores so far this fall including new flagship stores in Union Square (NYC) & in Chicago

*Expects to hire approximately 1,200-1,300 people (150 management positions) before the end of the year*Top Jobs: General Managers, Co-Managers and Assistant Managers ($28k-40k). Also hiring Delivery Drivers and Pizza Makers.
