Economic Trend the Obama Campaign's Friend

This could be the day we recall... the President's campaign came back to life.
And 8-something is better than 9-something. "That" is what's something. And "that" is what we heard today.
The nation's unemployment rate now sitting at 8.6 percent.
I'll save you the not-so-savory details how we got there...let's just say the administration will skip that and simply say we "are" there.

Bailed Out Fannie, Freddie Spend $640K on Conference

A year to the day a commission set to getting rid of the red.
Now a lot of folks in Washington just "seeing" red.
News today ...Fannie and Freddie ...still piggy.
Spending 640-grand to send 100 employees to a Chicago conference that now looks just...Silly.
How's that for a kick in the fannie...the folks on the hook to taxpayers to the tune of 124 billion smackers...and bragging that figure is down...smacking us with what amounts to be a 640-thousand-dollar expense report ...and i guess we have to pay up.

NEIL CAVUTO, HOST: To the guy who charges for everything from bags to booking a ticket online, going to the bathroom. I'm kidding. But he really started this and he has done all right just letting people know that if you are basic and honest with them, they know up front what they are getting into.
Spirit Airline CEO Ben Baldanza. Ben, there are those in the airline industry who said, you know, American Airlines didn't charge enough fees. What do you think of that?

Gamestop CEO on the Biggest Video Games This Holiday Season

NEIL CAVUTO, HOST: Man, oh, man. In your Facebook. Did you hear about this? We're just getting word now from our friends at the Wall Street Journal that Facebook is targeting probably as early as April 2012, maybe as late as June 2012, an initial public offering of its stock. This is the people being quoted familiar with the matter who have talked and gotten an idea of things to come from the CEO Mark Zuckerberg. No final decisions have been made but the company is exploring raising about $10 billion in an IPO that could value Facebook north of $100 billion. Wow!

Housing Hit Bottom?

NEIL CAVUTO, HOST: Well, it is a crying shame that housing is down and will stay down because not enough babies are popping out. Well, I should kind of rephrase that, but you get it, babies being born. A new study showing falling birthrates will prolong the housing slump because it will slow the whole economy and create more renters.
Just today, we learned that existing home sales are ticking up, but prices were, as Harry Dent and I were discussing, continuing to fall. LendingTree founder Doug Lebda is worried that they will keep falling.

Best Buy Employees Join Protest Over Working Thanksgiving Day

NEIL CAVUTO, HOST: You know, even give them time and have, they say not worth the time. It started with Target. Now Best Buy workers getting worked up over the talk they might have to work Thanksgiving. Stores starting Black Friday at Midnight, and that is ruining Rick Melargagni's entire night.
